Our History

As the woman of God was teaching Leadership Class one Sunday morning, the word of the Lord came from Joshua 1:2-9 verse 3 “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that I have given unto you.., Verse 5 “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life…, Verse 7 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law… turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.” That was the end of a awesome beginning. “K2K” (Keys to the Kingdom Outreach Ministry) was established January, 2005 under the leadership of Bishop Frankie Steward, an awesome man of God, a man of integrity, anointed with the ability to teach and lead God’s people in the 21st century. After much soul searching, fasting and prayer, Bishop Steward begin “K2K” in January 2005 at Kilgore College North with 8 (eight) charter members. The heart of this Pastor is to lead and follow under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Where his vision is for people to move from their comfort zones and to reach out and help someone else. With the Lord leading, guiding and direction, Bishop Steward and the “K2K” family worshipped at Kilgore College North for one month when the Lord opened the doors for them to move into a different location. In February, “K2K” moved its worshipping grounds to 3401 Martin Luther King, Longview, Texas. At the same time, the woman of God was sitting at Church’s Chicken admiring a sanctuary directly across the street saying, “You know Bishop, that woud make an awesome worshipping place for “K2K.” At this particular time, the building was not available. Despise not the day of small beginnings, we continued to worship at 3401 for a year and one month.

It doesn’t stop there, in February of 2006, the Lord began to fill the house, there were youth coming from everywhere and there grew a need for more classrooms and space to be able to do all God has commissioned this ministry to do. Again, the Bishop and Pastor began to pray and seek the Lord for answers. During several of the services held at K2K, prophecy came that we would not be in the same building the next year. This was confirmation from the Lord.   Again, the man and woman of God were sitting at Church’s Chicken and lo and behold, there was a sign in front of the sanctuary “For Sale” with a web address. That was all the woman of God needed as she went home that Sunday night and tapped into the web address and God began to work the details out. Pastor Steward contacted the realtor and Bishop Steward contacted the banker and the entire body of believers contacted the Lord. We came to this location one Tuesday night, marched around the building three times, one for the Father, one for the Son, and once for the Holy Spirit, picking up trash, singing songs unto the Lord. We prayed and as a family of believers, we were on one accord as we laid hands on the building and believed God for the release of the building into our hands to be used by Him. He said, “If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.”

Since February, 2005 the Lord has blessed this ministry mightily, new members have united with the K2K family, the building has been renovated: Nehemiah’s wall was built in one day. The floors were recovered and scrubbed, walls painted, blinds hung, yard manicured, the parking lot renovated, prayers have sent up before the Lord. The children are excited about the ministry, you will find them busily doing whatever needs to be done to the house of the Lord. The members are being delivered and set free under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Each Tuesday night, the Mission and Brotherhood worship and study the word of God together, along with midweek service with Prayer and Bible Study, The Pastor has a heart for hurting, abused women, on the 1st and 3rd Friday’s the ladies meet to discuss the Matters of their heart during Heart-to-Heart. Looking for a fitness programs, on the 2nd and 4th Saturday’s Praisercize will begin again here at K2K. We have a Youth Pastor: Minister Loretta Buchanan who is young a heart and truly cares about the youth of this church. There are continued plans for a TEEN Summit, Vacation Bible School, Angels on Patrol, Life Line for Seniors, and weekly visitations to the Nursing Homes in the area. The jail ministry is at the heart of the Bishop .

And the Lord added to the church daily as he sees fit. In April of 2006 the hand of the Lord began to move once again for this ministry. K2K purchased the present worship center under the guidance of the almighty Lord. 1801 S. Mobberly Avenue became our new worshiping grounds after continuous fasting and praying. The Pastors and the members of K2K truly know that the Lord was moving as they stepped out on Faith. The present consists of nine classrooms, two fellowship halls and an angelic, spirit filled sanctuary which seats 250+. We give God the glory for this worship center. The doors to our new worship center opened April 21, 2006. Since this time, families have some to unite with this ministry as we all continue to do the will of the Lord and press toward the mark of a high calling in Christ Jesus.

With the Keys to the Kingdom, Bishop Steward and his ministry family that the Lord has strategically planted them in the heart of the city of make a difference in the lives of people in this community. Future plans for K2K include: Christian Learning Center, Day care Center, Assisted Living for the elderly, Christian Counseling, and Ministry schooling. We are driven by: Philippines 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
